Arturo Gallardo is a seasoned international trade specialist with over a decade of experience, currently serving as a Trade Promotion Specialist for the Trade, Tourism and Investment Commission of Peru (PROMPERÚ), based in The Woodlands, Texas. Throughout his tenure at PROMPERÚ, Arturo has been instrumental in enhancing Peruvian export initiatives, particularly within the coffee and food industries, and has fostered strong business relationships between the U.S. and Peru.
Since 2018, Arturo has contributed to initiatives aimed at establishing Peru as a leading coffee exporter in the U.S. market. He has co-organized Peru's participation in the prestigious "Specialty Coffee Expo - SCA"; since 2021, significantly boosting the visibility and demand for Peruvian coffee in the competitive U.S. market.
Before assuming his current role, Arturo served as an Office Administrator for PROMPERÚ in both Houston and Washington, D.C., contributing to the overall efficiency and success of the offices in those locations. Arturo's professional journey extends into the private sector, where he was employed by one of Peru's top hardware import companies. In this role, he led distribution logistics, inventory management, and international supplier negotiations, traveling extensively to China and Colombia to establish and maintain key business relationships.
As an Independent Consultant, Arturo specialized in international procurement negotiations in China, overseeing global shipping operations and ensuring compliance with international trade regulations. His expertise in negotiation and deep understanding of global trade complexities have been critical to his success. A passionate traveler, Arturo enjoys traveling with family, camping, and going on road trips. His hobbies include mountain biking and enduro motorcycles, discovering new places, and experiencing different cuisines.
